Vintage 20th century, silk embroidered Obi Sash. Obi is a traditional Japanese belt/sash that were wrapped tightly around the waist of the kimono and tied in an elaborate knot. The obi is made with silk and metallic thread. The obi is covered in cranes which symbolize longevity. The obi is also covered in floral and bamboo foliage. The black background and golden thread make for a beautiful contrast. 
 
The obi is in very good condition.
