This glazed ceramic tile piece is an original, designed and created by Panos Valsamakis, one of Greece's most iconic contemporary ceramicists. Valsamakis very often evoked Greek history and the feminine form in his work, displayed beautifully here by a seated woman playing a lyre. Though Valsamakis' studio remains active and makes reproduction and original ceramics available, this work is unique and not available elsewhere.
 
Features Valsamakis' unique pottery mark in lower left corner. Its wooden frame (1/3" x 1/3") is in great condition, with metal hardware and wire set into the wooden backboard for hanging.
