This mid-20th century mask from the Ramu River in Papua New Guinea is made of wood, featuring a striking red color. It reflects the artistic style and cultural heritage of the Pacific Islands & Oceania region. This mask most likely used to represent ancestral figures and are used in daces and ceremonies. The mask has an oval face with a beaked nose and eye slits. A wire is suspended on the back of the mask for easy handing. 

 
The mask has some wear in the wood. A small loop is missing from the left side of the mask.
