This is a copy of Vigee Le Brun's, Self-Portrait, painted in 1790. The original hangs in the Uffizi gallery in Florence, Italy. The copy is quite similar and was painted around 1830. A large difference between the two are what she is painting on the canvas, other than that the two are uncanny. The painting is in a large ornate frame, adding even more elegance to the piece.

Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun (1755-1842) was a French painter who specialized in portraiture. She is also well known for being the court painter for Marie Antoinette.

The painting is in  good condition. The frame shows some signs of wear, with the paint chipping.
