McCabe (1858-1934) was a Pennsylvania artist who was born and lived his entire life in Coraopolis, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He worked as a civil engineer during his professional career and was an active member of the Pittsburgh Art Association where he pursued his artistic talents during his private time. Little else is known about his life.The painting is skillfully rendered in oil on stretched canvas. Overall condition is good, with some very minor flaking in the lower left corner.The painting measures 18" X 11 3/4" and in a frame 22" X 16".
