Striking pair of 19th-century Gothic Revival brass candlesticks, richly cast with architectural detailing. Each stands on a dramatic tri-form base with sculpted mask and paw feet, rising to a decorated column shaft and pricket-style candle holder. The ornate medieval-inspired motifs reflect the Gothic Revival movement popular in Europe during the Victorian period.
 
These were likely designed as altar or chapel candlesticks, where tall prickets held large church candles.
 
The candleholders are in good condition. Some green patina, can be removed for a uniformed look.
