This product is a set of four handmade Thai temple rubbings from the Wat Pho Temple, originating from Thailand. These rubbings showcase traditional Thai culture and are unique collectibles that offer a glimpse into the artistic and spiritual heritage of the region. The rubbings are artworkd created by using rice paper and charcaol over the reliefs on the temple walls, in order to capture the amazing carvings. The vintage rubbings have since been outlawed by the Thai government in the late 1960s/early 70s to protect the carvings. The rubbing depicts two demons, the second shows Nang Sida, a dancer and lastly a scene from the Ramakien epic war. Perfect for those interested in Asian cultures and ethnicities, these rubbings are a charming addition to any collection.
The rubbings are in good condition. Few creased and bends from being stored overtime.
