The horizontal landscape showcases a group of chickens in the foreground, a couple of ducks swimming in water can also be seen towards the front of the painting. The background is comprised on more chickens and a far field of grass and trees. Part of a house can be seen on the right. 
 
Leemputten is a Belgian artist known for his animal and landscape subject matter found in the Belgian countryside. His work is highly detailed. When viewing you feel transported into the countryside. His signature is located on the bottom right corner.
