The product is a pair of Japanese kimono design samples from the late 19th century, created in watercolor on mulberry paper. These antique original pieces offer a unique insight into traditional Japanese design and craftsmanship. The sketches are both from Kyoto, Japan and they would have been used as designs for silk kimonos. One piece is a full kimono sketch with a muted color palette depicted foliage. The second is a zoomed in landscape pattern which would have been repeated on the kimono.  
 
Both are in very good condition. The matting shows some signs of wear. The Kimono sketch has a couple punctures.
