The product is a Japanese Meiji period handpainted and embroidered Fukusa of Tennin. This antique piece from around 1880 showcases traditional Japanese craftsmanship and artistry, with intricate handpainted and embroidered details depicting a scene of Tennin. A Tennin is a heavenly maiden from Buddhist art. She has wings and a flowing scarf which makes her appear divine and ethereal. The lotus flower represents purity and enlightenment. Fukusas were used to wrap gifts for formal occasions and then returned to the owner. It would make a unique and culturally significant addition to any collection of Japanese antiques or Asian antiques.

The piece is in good condition. There is some slight staining and the embroidery is loose around the border from age and use.
