The product is a Japanese handpainted silk Fukusa with still life composition design. The piece is full of foliage such has magnolias, blue hydrangeas, orange blossoms which are common symbols of spring. A large pouch and open book are placed in the forground. The signed writting on the book looks to read "in a dream". Fukusas were used to wrap gifts for formal occasions and then returned to the owner. The intricate detailing and traditional Japanese design make it a special and collectible item for enthusiasts of Asian antiques.
 
The piece is in good condition. There is some wear and two small wholes towards the bottom.
