The product is a Japanese 19th Century c. 1860 copper menuki, in the shape of a centipede. Centipedes are associated with samurai. They only move forwards, never backwards whcih is a symbol of unwavering advance and no retreat. Menuki are a type of ornament used to decorative samurai swords. This menuki features intricate designs and craftsmanship, reflecting the artistic style of the time period. It holds cultural significance as a piece of Asian antiques, showcasing the rich history and traditions of Japanese craftsmanship. The piece would also make for a perfect pendant of pin!

The piece is in very good condition, with surface wear due to age and use.
