The Indian Tamil Nadu 20KYG over Lacquer Thandatti Earrings are a pair of intricately crafted earrings originating from South, specifically from the region of Tamil Nadu. The earrings date to the late 19th/early 20th century. The stylized earrings represnt the mythical Garuda bird, aslso known as the exterminator of snakes. The earrings are called "Thandatti" and wear worn by woman, often gifted at weddings, with the weight gradually stretching the earlobe, a sign of beauty and status. These earrings showcase traditional design elements and are adorned with a beautiful 20KYG lacquer finish, adding a touch of elegance to any outfit. Made with the intention of adding a touch of Southeast Asian charm to one's ensemble, these earrings are a unique and timeless piece of jewelry that captures the essence of the region's cultural heritage.

There is some surface wear, some slighting chipping on the round post of one of the earrings. The earrings are in very good condition, considering age and use. See photos.
