This unique piece is done by using copper enameling. The figure, dominating the center, is a woman kneeling, trying to cover her naked body with her hands and arms. Spears and large leaves surround her. The piece appears to be done in the Cubist style, dating it to the early/mid 20th century. The artwork has a solemn blue tone throughout with pops of a warm orange.The artwork came from the estate of Sarkis Sarkisian (1909-1977). Sarkisian was a Turkish born painter and teacher based in Detroit, Michigan. He is mostly known for his landscapes, still lifes, and figural paintings.The piece is in good condition. The mounting on the bottom is slightly lifting.Dimensions: 10" L X 15" H
