Antique Boxed Set of Replica Famous Historical Diamonds, Complete, in Original Custom-Made Case.
 
Set of “Historical Diamonds” consisting of the Hope Diamond, the Kohinoor Diamond (both the Old Cut and New Cut), the Grand-Mogul Diamond, and 11 other famous diamonds all reproduced true-to-actual-size in hand-cut crystal.  One of hundred sets of Historical Diamonds that were made ca. 1939 for educational purposes by the Gemological Institute of America in cooperation with DeBeers.  Sets as this one were used by jewelers to explain the history of various historical stones to prospective customers, all the while stimulating a generalized interest in diamonds and furthering the sale of these stones' less spectacular kin.
