This Chinese embroidered Foo Dog textile fragment from around 1900 represents a piece of Chinese culture and craftsmanship. The intricate embroidery and depiction of a Foo Dog, a mythical creature in Chinese folklore, showcase the artistry and attention to detail of Chinese textiles from that time period. The swirling and organic stiches create a flowing and ethereal scene. The foo dog can me seen in a playing state with one paw on a stylized ball. The textile also includes inlaid eyes. The piece was most likely part of a bigger embroidery at one point in time. This collectible item offers a glimpse into the cultural significance and artistic practices of China in the early 20th century.

The embroidery is in very good condition. Fraying on the ends of the textile.
