The Byzantine Justin II + Sophia struck coin from Cyzikos Mint, produced around 576 C.E., is a historical piece of ancient currency. Justin II, the nephew of Justin, ruled from November 15, 565 to October 5, 578 C.E. The coin was struck around 576 C.E., which would have been during Justin II's 11th year of ruling. The coin was made in Cyzikos. The coin is a Bronze follis or 40 Nummi. The obverse depicts Justin II and Sophia enthroned, each holding a cross. The reverse is a large M denomination reference. Mint abbreviation is below.
