20th Century, Central Java, Surakarta (Solo), Indonesia. Carved wood keris handle in the Planar form. The handle is carved with a rounded top and smooth flat angular sides. On the inside curve of the handle there are two precisely and dimensionally carved mask shapes. The handle surfaces are polished and sanded smooth. The wood has a reddish-brown color and is finished with a clear lacquer. 
 
Overall condition is good with minor rubbing on one side of the upper mask carving.
