This unique 20th century Japanese wooden figure features a man with a dog, crafted in the Meiji period. Its origins can be traced back to Japan, making it an authentic piece of Asian antique. The statue is perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of Japanese art and culture. The figure is made from wood and had inlaid eyes. The bare footed man carries a branch of fruit over his shoulder while his yapping dog looks up at him. The piece is intricately detailed and beautifully done. The positions make the scene like dynamic. The figure is an okimono, which is a Japanese term meaning ornament for display/decorative object.

The piece is in good condition. The man looks like he held something else in his other hand at one point, but is not missing.
