This is a 19th Century Edo lacquer inro signed by Hara Yoyusai in the style of Saki Hoitsu. The inro is made of lacquer and dates back to the Edo period in Japan. It is a traditional Japanese antique item known for its intricate artwork and craftsmanship. The front depicts the sun with three cranes. The reverse side features the moon with iridescent waves. The inro includes a purple braided string with a carved red netsuke featuring a dragon. The pouch/inro would have been suspended from an obi, which would have been worn around the waist of the kimono.
