Pair of Indo-Persian miniature portraits, finely detailed and painted on bone. These two portraits picture the Muhgal Emperor Shah-Jahan and his favorite wife, Mumtaz Muhal, for whom the Taj Mahal was built. These oval panels are mounted under glass and framed by red velvet, encased in a hinged case with metal clasp.
