This Japanese incense burner is a beautiful piece that adds a touch of serenity to any room. It features intricate details and a rich history, having been crafted at the Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine. The triple leaf motif closely resembles the Tokugawa clam crest which is strongly associated with the Nikko Tosho-gu shrine. These were popular pilgrimage souvenirs/shrine-related ritual pieces. The bottom inscription reads Made by Ying Tang outside the gate of Nikko Tosho-gu. The characters are Chinese, which means they may have been inscribed later after visiting the shrine.

The incense burner is perfect for those who love to relax and unwind, as the soothing scent of incense can help to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. It's also a great addition to any home decor, with its sleek design and elegant appearance. Whether you're looking to create a peaceful atmosphere in your living room or bedroom, this Japanese incense burner is sure to do the trick.

The piece is in good condition. There is some patina to the piece, with signs of use and age.
