Franz Bergmann (1861-1936) cold painted bronze sculpture of an Arab Soldier from the early 20th century. The soldier wears a striped thawb with a brown cap upon hi shoulders. The drooped lines on the cape help to create the look of fabric. A striped scarf is tied around his waist acting as a gun holster. The solider also wears a satchel a crossed his body and a headscarf with tassels scaling down. He is in a contrapposto stance with one leg forwards. He placed one hand on his hip and the other rests in the air, holding his weapon. His pose along with his cape suggests a confident and victorious feeling.

Bergmann was the owner of a Viennese foundry who produced numerous amounts of cold-painted bronze sculptures; oriental, erotic, and animal figures.

There are noticeable signs of wear including paint chipping due to age, the rock he stands upon seems to have been filled in on the side.
