wonderful iron Edo period (1603-1867) Tsuba (sword guard). It is inlaid with both gold and silver, depicting clouds, a sliver moon and bamboo shoots. There is a lovely scrolled edge in gold. The piece is signed on a silver banner shape by "Yoshi Kunio Saka". The reverse has three inlaid gold birds and is also bordered with gold scrollwork.
It is a great example of a fancy Tsuba, a worthy addition to any collection.
