Chuspa is a pouch used for carrying coca leaves. Coca leaves were often chewed on to satiate hunger and provide energy. The bags were predominantly made on backstrap looms with handspun wool. Designs and color vary depending on the region, village, and century but the basic structure is the same. Coca also has a spiritual role. They were taken during ceremonies and given as offerings to the gods.

The Chuspa is from the 20th century and made of wool. It has the classic rectangular shape with tassels adorning the bottom. The bag is multicolored with a diamond shaped pattern on the front and back side.

The piece is in good condition with slight fraying.
