Rangda is the demon queen of the Leyaks in Bali. Rangda is the female embodiment of divine negative energy. She eats children and leads an army of evil witches against Barong, who is the leader of the forces of good in Balinese mythology. Rangda is commonly portrayed naked with long hair, claws, fanged teeth, goggle-eyed mask, and a protruding tongue. The figure is beautifully carved with immaculate detail.  
 
The piece shows some signs of wear and age. There is a spilt/crack in the wood.
