This ceremonial keris handle is finely carved from wood in the Donoriko style. The ornamentation features biomorphic and zoomorphic forms rather than figural, showing the influence of Aniconism in Islamic design. Emerging from the fern-like tendrils are elements of the Dutch flag, epaulettes of military uniform and the impression of winged horses.
