This British made bayonet knife and sheath is dated to 1907 (as shown on blade.) "X" is also marked on the blade to show hardness as well as "Sanderson S18" and some other hard to read markings.
 
A hilt guard appears to have been modified and filed down sometime in the past. The metal parts and blade on this knife show signs of oxidation with age and use.
