This is an 18th Century Fragment of Kesi (Kossu) Silk Long Panel from China. The primary material is silk and fabric, featuring a multi-color design. It is an antique original piece with origins in China. The fragment is a beautiful example of 18th-century craftsmanship in silk weaving. Kesi/ Kossu, also known as cut silk, is a traditional Chinese silk tapestry weaving technique. Silk is used on a small scale and the density of the knots are usually very high. The technique uses short lengths of weft thread, which are tucked into the textile. This elegant piece features a vase with leaves and flowers.

The fragment shows signs of wear and age. It is persevered on a archival backing.
