For over thirty years, our customers have repeatedly come to Haig's of Rochester Fine Jewelry for all of their jewelry and antique repair and restoration needs. This unique service is not offered anywhere else in the greater Rochester area.

Examples of Our Restoration Work

Restoration of an Ancient Chinese Tang Dynasty  (600-900AD) Terra Cotta pottery horse.

1. Horse is photographed to document the condition of the piece as it is received.

2. The horse is broken down to its original fragments. Prior restoration is cleaned away.

3. Pieces are dried and prepped in order to begin the reassembly process.

4. Horse  is glued back together using materials that are reversible and will not harm the original.
5. As the horse is being reassembled, it is supported by wood blocks. Legs are rebuilt and the legs are leveled.

6. When the rebuilding process is completed, the horse can stand by itself once again. All restoration is toned-in
and colors blended to match the original clay surface.
