and appraisers. In addition, Haig's of Rochester continually searches
a variety of resources to find only the best diamond values based
on overall quality. We are very particular and only sell diamonds
we would personally own or give to our friends and family.

our position on conflict diamonds
We at Haig's
of Rochester Fine Jewelry share the community's concern over conflict
diamonds. Since 1973, we have offered only high quality diamonds
purchased from some of the most respected and trusted suppliers
the world over.
In April
2003, President George W. Bush passed The Clean Diamond Trade Act
requiring all U.S. diamond dealers to purchase diamonds from suppliers
and manufacturers who maintain documents showing that the diamonds
were obtained through legitimate channels. The U.S. Customs Service
enforces the act, which assists in finalizing the structure of the
Kimberley Process (see our FAQ section for more information).
Haig's of
Rochester Fine Jewelry supports the The Clean Diamond Trade Act
and the Kimberely Process. We continually support and promote processes
that maintain legitimacy in the diamond trade. If you would like
more information about our diamonds, please email us or call us

Tips
on how to give diamond jewelry
Seize the
day. Go outside the box to give her what's inside the box -- diamond
jewelry from Haig's.
Dressed
for Success
Arrange for your local jeweler to place in their window your ring
and a sign that says "Will You Marry Me" or "For
you, [insert name]. Happy Holidays". Take her for a stroll
past the store and stop at the window for her to gaze at the jewelry
and find your gift.
Holiday
Romance
Propose or present the diamond at midnight on Christmas Eve during
a church service or other holiday gathering.
Stocking
Surprise
Put the velvet box at the very bottom of the stocking, which you've
filled with thoughtless gifts.
History
Repeats Itself
If the story is romantic, propose to her exactly the way her dad
proposed to her mom.
The
Fortune of a Lifetime
Steam a fortune cookie until it's malleable. Open the cookie, place
the diamond jewelry inside with a note telling her how she is loved
by you.
Don't
Drink the Champagne!
Whatever you do, do not put diamond jewelry in a glass of champagne!
